GreenerCars.org is a consumer resource that provides green scores for all the eco-friendly vehicles on the market.
It’s part of the non-profit organization ACEEE (American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy), whose goal is to educate consumers about energy efficiency while protecting the environment and strengthening the economy.
The Lists
If you’re in search of a vehicle, regardless if it’s a compact car or a minivan, then The Best of 2008 list created by GreenerCars.org is where you should look. It lists all the greenest models broken down by class, and shows their gas mileage and green score.
So what topped the Greenest Vehicles of 2008 list? The Toyota Prius, which gets an amazing 48 mpg in the city and 45 mpg on the highway. Other top green vehicles were the Honda Civic Hybrid and Nissan Altima Hybrid.
As for the Meanest Vehicles of 2008, there was a tie between the Bugatti Veyron and the Lamborghini Murcielago/ Murcielago Roadster, both of which only get 8 mpg in the city and 13 mpg on the highway.
