Lavender List and Tea Tree Tips EcoLifestyle

Organic lavender oil is a natural anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-bacterial, antiseptic, anti-depressant, decongestant, deodorant, insecticide, sedative, and more. It is definitely a useful little oil to have handy and smells absolutely wonderful!

One 1oz bottle of organic lavender essential oil may be used for…

Bee Stings

Mix a couple of drops with 1 tsp of olive oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, sunflower oil, or jojoba oil and apply to skin.

Pimples

Mix 5 drops with 1 tsp of distilled water and apply to pimples on a nightly basis with a cotton ball.

Massage

Mix 10 drops with ¼ cup of olive oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, sunflower oil, or jojoba oil and massage away!

Arthritis

Same process as Massage listed above.

Insomnia

Sprinkle a few drops on a cloth or sock and place under pillow at night for a deep and peaceful sleep.

Cuts

Clean cut or wound thoroughly and sprinkle a couple of drops on affected area.

Sunburns

Mix 8 drops with 1 tbsp distilled water or aloe vera gel and apply to burned skin with a cotton ball.

Headache

Sprinkle a few drops onto a cloth and inhale deeply or apply 5 drops directly on your temples.

Relaxation

Add 8 drops to an aroma lamp or vaporizer and just relax.

Laundry

Mix 7 drops per ½ cup of environmentally friendly laundry detergent for fresh smelling clothes.

Air Freshener

Mix 10 drops with distilled water in a small spray bottle and leave it in your bathroom.

House Cleaner

Mix 10 drops with 2 cups of distilled water, ¼ cup distilled white vinegar, ¼ cup castile soap, a couple squeezes of a lemon, and a few pinches of sea salt which will thoroughly clean and disinfect your home!

Foot soak

Mix 4 drops with several cups of distilled or filtered warm water in a giant bowl, with optional lavender or rose petals floating on the surface of the bowl, and soak your feet.

Moisturizer

Mix a few drops with 1 tsp of olive oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, sunflower oil, or jojoba oil and apply to dry skin.

Mosquito Repellent

Same process as Moisturizer listed above.

Eczema

Mix 5 drops with chamomile tea and olive oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, sunflower oil, or jojoba oil and apply with a cotton ball or fingertips to affected area.

Deodorant

Mix 10 drops with ½ cup cornstarch and ½ cup baking soda and apply with a cosmetic brush or powder puff for a natural deodorant and body powder.

Bathtub

Mix 20 drops into your bathwater and relax your cares away.

Organic tea tree oil is a natural analgesic, antibacterial, antiseptic, anti-parasitic, antiviral, fungicidal, decongestant, anti-inflammatory and more. Like organic lavender oil, it has many uses and is quite an important oil to have on hand!

Athlete’s Foot

Mix 5 drops with 1 tsp of olive oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, sunflower oil, or jojoba oil and apply to infected area.

Ringworm

Same process as Athlete’s Foot listed above.

Yeast Infection

Mix 20 drops with ½ cup distilled water and soak tampon in water. Then insert tampon and replace every 3 hours.

Eczema

Mix 5 drops with ¼ cup distilled water and apply to affected area.

Scabies

Same process as Eczema listed above.

Massage

Mix 8 drops with ¼ olive oil, grapeseed oil, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, avocado oil, sunflower oil, or jojoba oil and massage away!

Sore Throat

Mix 2 drops with ¼ cup of distilled or filtered water and gargle. May also do this for inflamed gums or halitosis.

Carpet Freshener

Mix 5 drops with 1 cup baking soda and sprinkle on carpet prior to vacuuming.

Household Cleaner

Mix 10 drops with 2 cups of distilled water, ¼ cup distilled white vinegar, ¼ cup castile soap, a couple squeezes of a lemon, and a few pinches of sea salt which will thoroughly clean and disinfect your home!

Mildew Repellent

Mix 10 drops with distilled water in a small spray bottle and spray around potential areas where mildew could grow in your home.

Calluses

Apply a few drops directly to the callus.

Dandruff

Mix 5 drops with 1 tbsp of shampoo and apply to hair, paying particular attention to scalp.

Lice

Mix 20 drops with ¼ cup of shampoo and let sit on hair for 10 minutes prior to rinsing.

Laundry

Mix 3 drops with ½ cup of environmentally friendly laundry detergent.

Aftershave

Mix 3 drops with ¼ cup of distilled water and apply to shaven area with a cotton ball.

Pimples

Mix 5 drops with 1 tsp of distilled water and apply to pimples on a nightly basis with a cotton ball.

Chicken Pox

Apply directly to skin and allow to sit on skin for at least 15 minutes before rinsing with water. Repeat every 6 hours until itching stops.

Vaporizer

Add 7 drops to several cups of hot water. Mix in a bowl. Drape a towel over your head and gently breathe in and out for 10 minutes.

Ear Infections

Mix a few drops with ¼ cup distilled water and drop into infected ear

Believe it or not, these are only SOME of the possible uses for organic lavender and tea tree essential oils! Research it for yourself. These two oils may not be cure-alls, but they’re certainly close!

Who knew that lavender could have so many applications and do so much good! Just my luck to be allergic to it!
