A famous rocker and a rapper have signed on for 10 episodes of a new green reality series called Battleground Earth, which will appear later this year on Discovery Network’s new TV station called Planet Green.
Tommy Lee, the drummer for the popular 80s heavy metal band Motley Crue, and Atlanta-based rapper Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, two very unlikely partners, will be traveling across the country while participating in various green challenges.
Both Tommy Lee and Ludacris will travel across the U.S. to promote environmentalism. Some of the green challenges they will be participating in are building houses out of bamboo and racing alternative energy vehicles.
Tommy Lee, no stranger to reality TV, was hesitant about doing another show, but he wanted to do Battleground Earth for his children. He wanted to show them that helping the environment can be fun, and not the scary problem that many people make it out to be.
After the end of their green adventures, both Tommy Lee and Ludacris will meet at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles to co-headline a concert in which all proceeds will go to Griffith Park.
If the show is successful, other celebrities will be brought in for future episodes.
