UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon recently announced that the United Nations headquarters in New York will be participating in Earth Hour on March 28, 2009 by turning off all of its lights.

UN participation in such an eco-friendly event is a great sign of future times. Hopefully other nations around the world will take part in green events such as Earth Hour to prove their dedication to energy efficiency.
