According to a press release issued by the American Lung Association, Pittsburgh is the #1 city in the U.S. with the highest levels of particle pollution. This is a direct result of the ash, soot, car exhaust, aerosols and other harmful pollutants produced by the city.

Pittsburgh also ranks second for the most year-round particle pollution, right behind Los Angeles...

Carbon Dioxide Emissions at Record High

According to a study by the Earth Policy Institute, global CO2 emissions reached a record high of 8.38 gigatons in 2006, and they’ve only increased since then.

In 2000 it was predicted by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) that the annual growth of CO2 emissions between 2000 and 2010 would only increase by 2.3%, but we’ve already passed this at 3.1% and counting...

Inmates in Africa Pioneer New Sanitation Project
