Since 1837 Popular Science Magazine has been the top-rated source of science and technology news in the word. Since they went online in 1999 with PopSci.com, they’ve reached an even larger audience who continues to crave the latest up-to-date information on society’s advancements.
With iconic credibility, one can’t ignore PopSci’s latest endeavor to rate the top 50 greenest cities in America.
Using data compiled from the U.S. Census Bureau and National Geographic Society’s Green Guide, as well as rating the cities in four major categories, the online magazine shows America that we are making progress in the fight against global warming.
Top 10 Greenest Cities
Out of a possible overall score of 30 points, the top ten cities all acquired over 21 points in the four main categories.

This article proves that America has not totally gone to waste in the eyes of the environment, but we still need to work harder to improve our air quality and recycling efforts, and to reduce our carbon footprint.
According to a Yale Study of the world’s greenest countries, the U.S. ranks 39, and even though that’s modest, it’s also not that great. So let’s all keep trying to improve our green efforts and show the entire world that we care about the environment.
